Even though the trend has been to have a YouTube Channel for the past decade, we decided to launch in December, 2020.
It is still possible to monetize a YouTube Channel going into 2023? Short Answer: Yes. Today is the day to start if you haven’t already. But…be ready for the long haul, as it’s not a quick (nor necessarily easy process) and it will take time and dedication to the craft.
Will you learn a few things about yourself in the process – absolutely yes.
We are going to answer this great question, along with our: (1)process from launch to monetization; (2) statistics of course; and (3) when we obtained 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours.
Our Channel, Wake the Elephant, was launched December 6, 2020, and we published 4 videos this month, then we took a break and did not launch any videos in January or February 2021.
March 2021: When March rolled around, we remembered we had a new YouTube Channel (this is a joke, we knew we had a YT channel), and decided to launch 6 more videos.
Subscribers started to trickle in and we were excited, and we continued to publish and launch more videos. April 2021, we launched 3 more, and May another 3.
September 2021: In the month of September, we saw our biggest increase in not only subscriber count and watch time but we launched 7 more videos this month.
October 2021: After launching 12 more videos, our numbers continued to look better; however, it could still use some improvement.
Here are the stats after one year of launching videos, rather inconsistently. At this time, our subscriber count was approximately 25.
November 2021: Our subscriber count started at 27 and grew to 322 by month-end. We published 7 more videos this month.
December 2021: The subscriber count continued to grow and we ended the month with 2169 subscribers.
We acquired 4,000 watch hours on December 13, 2021.
Officially our channel was monetized on December 15, 2021.
It was almost a year to the day from “launch day.” We also published 13 videos this month, the most-to-date.
During this time, there were three main videos that rose to the top on our channel, which are:
Top Lies a Narcissist Tells / How to See Through the Mask (it’s almost at 80K views as of the time of this writing).
Narcissist Kryptonite: What they Don’t Want You to Know (25K views).
Honorable Mention: Love-Bombing: The Subtle Insult | What is Really Occurring (currently 11K views).
You certainly can! Even though there may be established channels on your particular niche, you can still start, launch, and monetize your channel.
We are absolutely so grateful for all of our subscribers, listeners of our podcast, and those who have signed up for our newsletter, etc. Thank you from the bottom of our heart!
